kauai

on our 5th anniversay, trip to kauai: stayed at Princeville Resort on the north side of the island

joe's first attempt at surfing, as a strayed dog looks on - he actually rode some waves!

joe tricks me into doing a 4 hour hike on treacherous uphill like this

who's regretting it now? actually, it wasn't too bad - we did see a girl who sprained her ankle and awaiting rescue with this plank on her leg - we later find out that she had to be carried (!) down by two people - since there's absolutely no where for a helicopter to land...

kauai

my adventure was riding this hanglider attached to what looks like a motorcycle: gets to go real high and goes into little nooks and crannies of the valleys: cool experience but would have been cooler if i was piloting....

view from the hanglider

Napali Coast: one of the most breathtaking scenery - and everyone knows i'm not a nature person: amazing - made me utter "How Great is our God!"

the water: so deep and blue: got to see dolphins and turtles!

kauai

ok, now onto really important things - food: we were afraid that the food wouldn't be as great as Maui - who can really beat Mama's Fish House- but Kauai had alot more local cheap offerings that we really enjoyed: here saimin, looks just like japanese ramen but the noodle was much chewier? we couldn't quite figure out if we like it or not

shrimp tempura oozing with oil: i love hawaii because you can get cheap japanese food!

look at this roll! tuna, crab meat, advocado and cucumber - sooooo big and yummy: the whole roll to go only was $8!: found it on a fish market attached to a restaurant: definite find
local delicacy of shaved ice - pick a flavor, they'll have it
