family night #2

this week: baking chocolate chip cookies. chocolate chips are precious commodity here. you have to make your own chocolate chunks if you want to make it - we had joe's co-worker visiting from the states to bring us a bag. since we were unsure of the recipe, we only used half a bag - good thing. it wasn't very good..... if anyone knows of a great chocolate chip recipe, please let us know...

ethan admiring the egg and vanilla extract that mak is about to pour.

ethan thinking, "this isn't worth the effort and the wait" - notice they took a shower in between mixing and baking.

makayla agrees - you can tell from her bite that the cookie is neither chewy nor tasty. . . . sorry guys.

p.s. - joe went to london today for a business trip for the whole week. i have my babysitter staying with me at night so i won't be alone. please pray that we'll all survive without much meltdowns.

I suggest going to www.foodieview.com and typing whatever you want to make. Then, the website searches the Internet for relevant recipes. You can select the recipe with the highest user rating and also using the ingredients you have available. I read recipes for fun, you know... Anyway, I hope this helps!

have you ever tried the neiman marcus cookie recipe? (you can leave out some of the ingredients if you're making it for the kids.) just google it and you will find it. man, i would of never guessed that was a chocolate chip cookie ethan was eating... and i love how you served the cookies in a soy sauce dipping bowl - i have the same exact ones!
